In the role of Academic Coach, you will predominantly be based at Waterfront, Huddersfield, but will need to travel to Dewsbury at least 1 x week, and your focus will be on delivering creating/monitoring/planning for Academic support sessions across courses at level 2 and level 3 Applied Science, Forensic Science:
This will also include some Access to HE, level 3 in Health Science Professions, Humanities and Science programmes.

  • Your key responsibilities will be will be offering a range of holistic support to ensure a rounded approach to support for students
  • Supporting academic achievement by preparing students for exams and assessments and introducing academic rigour to support expectations of a range of programmes
  • Enabling and supporting students to overcome barriers to progress and success in their academic journey, and/or into employment

Ideally, you will have a teaching qualification and demonstrable experience in working in FE or other educational settings. With extensive experience in supporting students to achieve their potential academically. It is important that you are able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and have an excellent understanding of equality and diversity you must be able to demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Term time only staff who start mid Academic year will have their initial salary payments calculated based on actual weeks worked and the number of pay dates between the beginning of employment and the end of the current academic year.
