Accounts Assistant

Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance team to maintain financial control by performing certain tasks within established finance processes e.g. reporting, analysis, ledger review, administration.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Produce daily cashflow report

• Produce daily bank reconciliations

• Process expenses claims

• Provide data required by Office for National Statistics

• Running daily and monthly reports for management

• Providing cover for team member absence

• Month end aged debt clear down reporting

• Allocation of payments to supplier accounts

• Set up new supplier accounts on the system

• Assist with managing and monitoring customer fraud and risk

• Assisting members of the Ledger Team when required

• Perform system administration duties in banking system, HSBCnet

• General administration duties e.g. post, filing

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications

• Working knowledge of core accounts processes

• Ability to work with Finance systems to process and extract information and maintain financial control

• Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work at speed

• Good communicator with the ability to listen and interpret complex information

• Working as part of a team to meet deadlines

• Experience in an Accounts Assistant role is required

• Experience of reporting using finance systems and Excel spreadsheets is required

• Experience of working proactively and independently with colleagues is required
