Are you a caring, compassionate and cheerful person with lots to give? Join us as a Health Care Assistant at Lepton Heights care home in Huddersfield.

As a Health Care Assistant, also known as Support Worker, you’ll support adults living with complex care needs to live their best lives.

About Exemplar Health Care

Lepton Heights is part of Exemplar Health Care, one of the country’s leading nursing care providers.

We support adults living with complex needs, such as acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia and physical disabilities.

As well as stable and secure employment opportunities, we offer great benefits and perks, and plenty of opportunities to learn, develop and progress.

About the role

Our Health Care Assistants support people to live their best lives, whatever that looks like to them.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Encouraging and supporting people to take part in social activities, both in and out of the home
  • Assisting people at meal times
  • Understanding individual health and wellbeing needs
  • Promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect
  • Supporting people with their personal care if needed
  • Completing and maintaining care records
A rewarding role, making a real difference

A career in care is more than just a job. It’s about building meaningful relationships, supporting independence, and being there when it matters most.

Whether you’re changing careers or taking your first step, you’ll be making every day better for the people we support.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping people, so it made sense to build a career around that desire to help.” After a career in the Royal Air Force, Philip decided to make a change and start a career in care.

We value relevant experience and qualifications, but they aren’t essential for this role.

  • Caring, kind, understanding and calm
  • Able to deal with, and defuse, challenging situations
  • Energetic and outgoing, with a positive, can-do attitude
  • A great listener and communicator

If you haven’t worked in the care sector before, we’ll help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy and ongoing training programmes.

What we offer

We offer great rewards and perks including:

  • Regular supervision, peer support, learning opportunities and career prospects
  • Access to wages before payday with Stream
  • Retail and lifestyle discounts
  • Free DBS check
  • 24/7 counselling and support
  • Blue Light Card eligibility

About Exemplar Health Care

Exemplar Health Care began as a healthcare consultancy and training firm. But we soon saw a gap in the sector: a lack of care homes for younger adults living with complex needs.

That insight shaped the mission we still live by today - to transform complex care and provide fulfilling opportunities for the people who need it most.

We’re now proud to have more than 60 care homes across England, providing nursing care for adults living with dementia, neuro-disabilities, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities.

Whoever you are, and whatever experience you bring, there are lots of ways you can help us make every day better for the people we support.

The people we support have unique needs and stories, but one thing stays the same across all our homes - we empower individuals to achieve personal goals in a safe and supportive environment.
