QA Test Engineer – (Automation & Manual & Data) | £40,000–£50,000 DOE | SaaS | Huddersfield / Hybrid
A well‑established SaaS company based in Huddersfield is looking for a hands‑on Test Engineer to join its growing delivery team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tech‑first business with a long track record of success, where you’ll help elevate testing standards and play a key role in their shift towards increased test automation.
In this role, you will be responsible for data testing as well as both Automation and Manual Testing of their software platform.
This role is ideal for a Test Engineer who enjoys combining detailed manual testing with smart automation, who has experience with Data Testing, Validating Data and rules/complex calculations.
Role Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and maintain manual test cases
Develop and expand automated test suites using Playwright and Spec Flow (C# BDD)
Use Gherkin syntax to write clear and effective test scenarios
Carry out integration, UI, regression, UAT, and performance testing
Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines via Azure Dev Ops
Validate complex rule sets and interpret detailed specification documents
Test inclusion/exclusion logic, eligibility criteria, and data mapping
Verify weighted calculations, aggregated metrics, rounding, and precision rules
Work with large and imperfect datasets from MIS systems, where data quality may vary
Use SQL or similar tools to validate data, verify results, and support deeper investigation
Requirements:
Experience in manual testing of web applications
Data testing experience
Experience validating data, calculations, or rules‑based logic
Hands‑on automation experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools
Skilled in writing BDD‑style tests using Gherkin or similar
Strong numerical reasoning and a methodical, analytical mindset
Ability to interpret complex specifications and challenge unclear requirements
Clear communicator who thrives in cross‑functional teams
Experience ideally within Financial Services, Fin Tec, EdTech or Analytical fields.
