Criminal Solicitor

Are you an experienced Criminal Solicitor looking for the opportunity to build and lead your own department within a supportive, forward-thinking firm?

A well-established and growing Yorkshire-based law firm is undertaking a strategic recruitment drive. Although the firm does not currently provide criminal defence services, it is keen to expand into this area, whether through an ambitious solicitor with a clear vision or an established team seeking a new base.

This role can be based in Huddersfield or Leeds, with part-time, flexible and hybrid working options available for the right candidate.

This is a rare opportunity to create and lead a Criminal Law department within a respected multi-office firm. You will benefit from a strong existing infrastructure, an excellent reputation across other practice areas including Family, Private Client and Property, and a leadership team that welcomes innovation and growth. Full operational and administrative support will be provided, allowing you to focus on casework and developing the department.

This role would suit someone with the drive and ambition to shape and grow a new service line.

Requirements include:

• A qualified Solicitor with solid experience in Criminal Defence, ideally with a background in advocacy, case management and business development
• Individuals or small teams looking for a platform to develop and succeed
• A genuine interest in playing a key role in the firm's expansion into new practice areas
• Duty Solicitor status and experience with Legal Aid Agency processes would be highly advantageous
