Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Huddersfield / Brighouse Area – Permanent position.

Rotating shift pattern:

• Week1 – 6:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday & 6:00am to 11:30am Friday
• Week2 – 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday to Thursday & 11:30am to 5:00pm Friday

Providing mechanical maintenance support to other departments, ensuring preventive maintenance (PPM) compliance, reacting to maintenance tasks, maintaining statutory inspections, stocking spares, and supporting the EHS team.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Ensure PPM activities are completed on time.
• Action reactive maintenance tasks quickly, safely and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance and statutory inspections, supporting other functions.
• Support the EHS team.
• Ensure the stock of spares is maintained.
• Perform breakdown maintenance activities.

• Technical knowledge of equipment (pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Experience of MIG welding is essential.
• Experience with a computerised maintenance system.
• Experience in machine and plant maintenance and breakdowns.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of general engineering principles.
• Understanding of H&S procedures.
• Team player.
• Positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Basic salary of £35,000–£39,000 + 20% shift allowance on the late shift, plus overtime rates for any additional hours worked. The company also offers a benefits package.
