Hours: 40 Hours Per Week Including Weekends

We are currently looking for a Plant Area Manager to join our large Garden Centre Group. Previous experience as a Plant Manager within the industry is preferred, however, applicants with a proven plant management background with a knowledge of plants will be considered.

Working in the plant area is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role.

A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

The successful candidate will preferably possess either a horticultural qualification, will be in training or had practical horticultural experience. Forklift truck licence an advantage.

• Managing section people resources
• Forward planning of work schedule
• Daily resource management to support effective customer service requirements.
• Deployment of the team to deliver excellent plant standards.
• Responsible for leading a team.
• Operational Audit for compliance in those areas
• Key holder responsibilities to assist with opening and closing of the centers. Holiday cover
• Ensuring department compliance and health and safety regulations are carried out.
• Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people manager.
• Accountable for providing great customer service and have a keen eye for quality and detail.
• Ordering / Plant standards
