The Housing Growth Team is responsible for delivering new homes across Kirklees by working with key partners, Council services, developers and funders to unlock sites and build a mix of new homes including affordable, specialist and market housing, and promoting low‑carbon technologies and modern methods of construction. The driving force of the team is the huge satisfaction which comes from knowing that our work makes a tangible difference to our residents and businesses.
RoleSummary
We are currently looking for a Housing Growth Officer to lead on and support the delivery of projects and programmes of work related to housing growth. The projects the team work on are varied, and there are opportunities to work on strategic urban extensions, specialist housing, the repurposing of landmark and historic buildings, and work to secure temporary accommodation for those in urgent housing need.
Responsibilities- Lead on work of different housing growth projects of varying complexity and scale.
- Project manage other team members to deliver successful outcomes.
- Apply detailed project management techniques aligned with housing development and growth.
- Communicate progress, produce report writing and maintain stakeholder engagement.
- Self‑sufficient, organised and motivated.
- Experience in fast‑paced environments with multiple deadlines.
- Technical skills matched by people skills; ability to work well in a team.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Understanding of project management techniques and house‑development processes is essential.
