Major Recruitment is partnering with a leading manufacturer within the metal packaging industry to recruit an experienced Tool Setter Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business that supplies high-quality components to the food, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical sectors worldwide.

Role Overview

As a Tool Setter Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring all tool and production line changeovers are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards. You will set and adjust manufacturing equipment, maintain process parameters, and support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete production line changeovers efficiently and safely.
  • Set machine parameters to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Adjust presses, rolling machines, slitters, and transport mechanisms as required.
  • Identify tooling or process issues and collaborate with team members to find effective solutions.
  • Support the Production Supervisor in planning changeover activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety and good manufacturing practices.
  • Assist with training Senior Operators on basic equipment adjustments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve changeover processes.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Committees or other employee representation forums as required.
Requirements Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in machine tool setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to set, adjust, and balance production lines.
  • High attention to quality and detail.
  • Understanding of process efficiency and continuous improvement principles.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and occasional weekend overtime.
Desirable
  • Engineering qualification (apprenticeship or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
