Permanent, Part-Time About the Role An established bakery production business based in Leigh is looking for an organised and detail-focused Part-Time Technical Administrator to support its Quality Assurance team. This is a permanent, part-time position working 15 hours per week , across Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Reporting to the QA Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for checking production and quality documentation, maintaining accurate records and supporting food safety, quality and compliance procedures.
The position would suit someone with previous experience in bakery production, a retail bakery or food service environment , with good knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles.
Key Responsibilities Check daily production and quality paperwork, including batch records, checklists and temperature logs. Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and compliant with Quality Assurance requirements. Check packaging and labelling documentation against product specifications. Review allergen control records, ingredient verification and labelling accuracy. Check and maintain shelf-life testing records. Maintain accurate paper and electronic quality records. Log samples and internal and external laboratory test results.
Process documentation relating to held or out-of-specification products. Assist with updating product specifications, technical folders and food safety documentation. Support supplier non-conformance administration, including logging and follow-up actions. Help maintain specification and raw-material databases. Prepare and organise documentation for internal and external audits. Log customer complaints and supporting documentation. Support colleagues with the correct completion of quality assurance paperwork. Promptly report missing, incomplete or non-compliant documentation to the QA Manager.
Help promote a positive food safety and quality culture throughout the business. Essential Requirements Previous experience within bakery production, retail bakery or food service . Good working knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles . Minimum Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or Manufacturing . Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping. Strong organisational skills.
Clear and confident communication skills. Competent using computer systems such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Proactive, flexible and comfortable working as part of a team. Desirable Level 3 Food Safety or Internal Audit qualification. Experience working with food safety certification standards such as BRC or SALSA. Knowledge of allergen management and food labelling legislation, including Natasha's Law. Experience using quality management or food safety software.
Understanding of retailer or customer Codes of Practice. Working Hours This is a permanent, part-time role working 15 hours per week :
