Are you looking for your next opportunity in the Timber sector? SRS Recruitment are one of the UK's leading Construction Products Recruiters, assisting a leading Timber Merchant in their search for a SALES EXECUTIVE.

The Company

Our client is one of the UK's largest distributors of Timber & Timber Products, including hardwoods and panel products, supplying Independent and National Merchants, Regional & National House builders and Manufacturers. They have a nationwide distribution network and have been established for over a century.

Role

As SALES EXECUTIVE you will proactively sell Timber & Timber Products to existing customers and new prospects, liaise with suppliers and negotiate prices on behalf of the company. The role is largely field based with full account management for key accounts and active new business development. You will represent the company's image and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Establish, manage and maintain relationships with current and target customers.
  • Arrange and attend client and customer meetings.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase your client base.
  • Provide comprehensive updates of the company, products and services to clients.
  • Attend industry events as required.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity and customer strategies.
  • Quoting and costing customer requirements.
  • Ensure high customer service standards are met at all times.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties that may arise.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in construction products sales, ideally timber.
  • Customer service experience in a sales environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate confidently over the phone and face to face.
  • Strong listening and verbal communication skills to identify customer issues or requests.
  • Thrives in a sales environment; motivated and driven to achieve sales targets.
  • Strong IT skills.
