Overview
Could you be the new Events Coordinator at Huddersfield Students' Union? In this role, you will develop, coordinate and lead the delivery of Students’ Union events, providing a broad programme of activities across the year. Your work will help students connect with each other, celebrate key moments in the student calendar, and find new ways to get involved in Union life.
Day‑to‑dayduties include:
- Support student‑led events with Activity Groups and Liberation Networks.
- Deliver the weekly “What’s on Wednesday” programme.
- Help run larger student‑led events (some evenings/weekends). Support delivery of major SU events.
- Manage bookings, set‑up/pack‑down, admin, budgets and H&S.
- Deliver the SU offer at Open Days (some Saturdays).

- Manage ticketing/booking systems and report attendance and spend.
- Work with partners; organise trips; coordinate staff/volunteers.
We are looking for someone who is confident and engaging, organised, and able to juggle multiple projects under pressure to meet deadlines. You’ll bring experience of organising events or recreational activities, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to take a constructive, collaborative approach to problem‑solving. You’ll be comfortable using standard Microsoft Office software (including spreadsheets) and administering systems that record participation.
You’ll also have experience creating and working with risk assessments, alongside a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and to sustainability in line with the Union’s policies. Training and development will be available to support you in the role and your future goals.
