Responsibilities (and expected duties):

  • Advanced 3D modeling skill set, ideally in Solid Works (3‑5 years direct work experience)
  • Working knowledge of fiber connector and cable assembly
  • Ability to take a concept design and make it reality
  • Conduct product testing and create models and prototypes
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles throughout the design process
  • Design and develop new products and enhance existing product designs, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and customer‑facing use
  • Lead design verification testing and collaborate with the test lab (Resolute Technologies) to ensure thorough product functionality and reliability assessments
  • Work with patent attorneys for patents and patent clearances
  • Lead projects and develop project plans
  • Coordinate with supply chain to develop samples and parts delivery schedule timelines
  • Excellent communication skills – interface successfully with other engineers, non‑technical personnel, and customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (preferred)
  • 3‑5 years of 3D CAD knowledge (Solid Works preferred)
  • 6‑10 years of experience in fiber optics or connector design
  • Background in plastics a plus
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
