Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support a healthcare-related team in Hudson, Massachusetts. This is a Contract position suited for someone who can manage billing activity accurately, coordinate effectively with insurance carriers, and help keep revenue cycle tasks moving efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of medical billing processes and can contribute to additional administrative or billing-related projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Process and record payments with a high level of accuracy to maintain current billing information.

- Communicate with insurance providers to review claim status, resolve discrepancies, and support timely reimbursement.

- Prepare, submit, and follow up on medical claims to help reduce delays in payment.

- Review billing documentation and coding details to identify errors and support compliant claim submission.

- Handle collection-related activities by researching outstanding balances and assisting with account resolution.

- Use EPACES and related billing systems to access claim information, verify updates, and manage account activity.

- Support special billing or operational assignments, including project-based tasks tied to workflow improvements or system-related updates. Requirements - Experience in medical billing within a healthcare, clinical, or related office environment.

- Working knowledge of medical coding principles and standard billing practices.

- Ability to manage medical claims from submission through payment follow-up.

- Familiarity with medical collections and resolving outstanding account issues.

- Experience using EPACES or comparable healthcare billing platforms.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial and patient billing records.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance representatives and internal team members.
