This program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last6 months of service, for up to180 days. Mercury Skill Bridge is open to all ranks and experience levels provided they meet the minimum requirements for the position listed below.

Job Summary:
As a Test Technician, you will perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tests on Printed Circuit Board assemblies, including Functional Tests, Environmental Tests, Diagnostic scripts, etc. by follows predetermined methods and sequence of operations in performing tests following Manufacturing Test Procedures (MTP)
Job responsibilities:
- Running tests constructed by others; can follow & has basic understanding of Manufacturing Test Procedures (MTP)
- Running moderate to complex testing; performs Functional, Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests
- Setting-up and operate test equipment in accordance with standard test procedures.
- Troubleshooting simple to moderate issues
- Using a variety of test equipment to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products
- Maintaining prototype and pre-production test fixtures (proactive and reactive)
- Assisting engineering in the implementation of new test tools and support as needed.
- Providing feedback for improvements in test documentation, equipment, and processes
- The quality of work-in-process
- The cleanliness of work area and surrounding workspace
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Current active US military personnel eligible for Skill Bridge opportunities
- Understanding of basic electrical theory
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
- Ability to operate test equipment, printed circuit board assemblies, sub-assemblies, and computers
- Test Technician of Printed Circuit Boards & Sub-assemblies; 5 years
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred
- Interpretation or deviation from standard procedures
- Makes minor adjustments to working methods
- Communicates information that requires explanation or interpretation
- Ability to multi-task concurrently
- Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior
- Works under moderate supervision
- Ability to work with general instruction on daily activities
