Job DescriptionThe Inventory Exceptions Specialist will address customer delivery exceptions with urgency and accuracy, resolving inventory discrepancies before or after delivery to protect the customer experience. The role coordinates with 3PL delivery providers across the country, manages reverse logistics exceptions, and reviews multi‑system transactions throughout an order’s life cycle to maintain both customer and inventory accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Review and resolve all reported orders and inventory exceptions tied to customer orders, including OS&D processing on the inbound receiving side and ensuring accurate reflection in our ERP system.
- Process returns, exchanges, and exceptions that generate return inventory in a timely manner, supporting a seamless reverse‑logistics flow.
- Assist with quality and product status changes and holds related to customer orders, mitigating negative impacts.
- Handle logistics help‑request tickets from internal teams and external partners, with a focus on customer sales orders.
- Collaborate with internal business teams to achieve task or project goals on both scheduled and ad‑hoc basis.
- Continuously improve processes within the role and cross‑functionally to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Navigate ERP, WMS, and other logistics and order‑management systems to monitor and move inventory, accounting for customer order impact.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and serve as a role model associate.
- High school diploma; college degree preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong collaboration, relationship‑building, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead discussions with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams) and inventory‑management tools.
- Minimum of one year of inventory control experience, including cycle counting, WMS and ERP system experience, sales‑order exception auditing and processing.
- Understanding of general logistics and warehousing work practices, including order processing, picking, shipping, and returns.
- Dedicated to business needs and flexible with work hours if required; demonstrated ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Experience in public‑company environments and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOX) strongly preferred.
- Strong time‑management skills to handle assigned tasks at both individual and team levels.
- Respectful and effective working relationships, collaboration with others, willingness to learn and lead.
- Positive, all‑in attitude toward the work environment.
