The Shipping Clerk is responsible for tracking and tracing all Leaf Home shipments. The Shipping Clerk’s key responsibility will be making sure Leaf Home’s internal partners are promptly notified of impending shipments. Additionally, they will play a key role in scheduling freight for pickup, preparing shipping documents, and maintaining internal information as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Track and trace all Leaf Home shipments.
- Build shipments in our internal systems and select the best mode/carrier.
- Issue freight arrival notices to internal and external locations through reports and software.
- Issue parcel arrival notices to internal locations through reports.
- Prepare and proof shipping documents as required.
- Inform management of ongoing performance issues.
- Assist the Transportation Supervisor, Warehouse Specialists, and other team members when needed.
- Send transportation vendors weekly shipping schedules.
- Communicate with transportation vendors as needed.
- Manage location addresses and accessorial needs throughout software/excel as needed.
- Update consignee information in software as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Well-developed organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks & deadlines simultaneously.
- Must possess demonstrated customer service skills and ability.
- Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.”
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
- Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
- Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
- Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
