- Dispense prescriptions in compliance with Federal and State regulations in an accurate, timely, and courteous manner.
- Provide effective drug information and consultation to professional staff, providers, patients, and members.
- Ensure strict adherence to the laws of the DEA and other regulatory agencies as they impact the operation of the pharmacy.
- Assist in the ordering, receiving, storage, and safekeeping of pharmaceuticals and maintain a cost‑effective inventory level.
- Assist in the direction of work performed by all nonprofessional employees of the pharmacy.
- Foster and utilize the use of pharmacy technicians in the technical duties of the pharmacy.
- Support and cooperate with other departments’ operational initiatives; maintain a professional image.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Provides established pharmaceutical services in the retail and inpatient pharmacy. Knowledgeable about and monitors healthcare trends and happenings in community, state, and region as well as nationally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key constituents and all levels of management and employees. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups. Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual situations, or situations with combative or agitated patients. Must have critical thinking skills to spot payer processing trends.
- Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Current WI licensure.
- Minimum one year hospital and/or retail pharmacy experience.
