The OpportunityWe are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hudsonville that are seeking skilled Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot control systems (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and robotic platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation system failures to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement automation improvements.
- Integrate new automation technologies and systems with existing manufacturing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for automation systems, schematics, and operational procedures.
- Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), HMI/SCADA development, and industrial control systems.
- Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) for programming, integration, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet) and network configuration.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug, and commission complex automation equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and quality control.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, ANSI B11.0) and their application in automation design.
- Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
- Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration or SCADA/Historian platforms.
- Familiarity with industrial network protocols (e.g., Ether Net/IP, PROFINET) and basic cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with automation simulation software or digital twin concepts.
