Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to greet, interact, and communicate with customers, patients, and Health System employees.
- Ability to read and write; understand instructions and communicate with customers.
- Ability to perform non‑complex arithmetic including receiving cash and providing change.
- Ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, and ensure accuracy.
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coping with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to stand for up to 80% of work time.

Competency:
Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows‑based computer systems, email, e‑learning, intranet, and navigation; using software required to perform essential functions. - Physical/Mental:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; use assistive devices for weight >35 lbs. - Essential Functions:
- Greets customers, patients, and colleagues with courtesy and demonstrates excellent customer service.
- Organizes cashier area: prepares currency bags, fills cash register, and maintains credit‑card machines.
- Accurately operates cash register, assigns cost exceptions, and matches items to appropriate department keys.
- Assumes accountability for cash at end of shift, verifies register tapes, posts necessary adjustments, and assists with balancing cash drawers.
- Maintains food‑product inventory, orders from approved vendors, and monitors inventory levels to maximize turnover and minimize spoilage.
- Attends meetings, trains new staff, and participates in inventory processes as needed.
- Utilizes downtime to assist with department operations.
- Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships; approaches conflict constructively; identifies problems, offers solutions, and participates in their resolution.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient, physician, colleague, and visitor information; discusses only with appropriate personnel and in private places.
- Behaves in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Service Excellence Standards, and Trinity Health mission, vision, and values.
- Assumes responsibility for safe job performance and reports all hazards or unsafe practices immediately to management.
