Role: Accountant

Location: Hull

Salary: Up to £35,000 (DOE)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long established independent accountancy practice in Hull, offering broad all round exposure across accounts, bookkeeping, VAT & payroll within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The firm is looking to speak with practice experienced candidates who are looking to continue developing their technical skills within a hands on role, working closely with experienced team members across a varied client portfolio.

• Preparing year end accounts for a varied client base
• Bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software
  
  Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with payroll processing and related duties
• Supporting clients with general accounting queries
• Working closely with senior team members across a range of client work
• Providing practical support to owner managed businesses

• Previous experience working within UK accountancy practice
• Experience preparing accounts, VAT returns and bookkeeping work
• Strong hands on and practical approach
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to learn and develop technically
• AAT or ACCA studies beneficial but not essential
• Experience with software such as Xero, Sage or Quick Books desirable
