As a Personal Tax Assistant Manager, you'll take responsibility for overseeing a varied portfolio of private clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance services whilst assisting with advisory work. You'll work closely with senior members of the tax team and play an active role in developing junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including individuals, trusts and partnerships, ensuring compliance deadlines are met. Review personal tax returns prepared by junior members of the team, providing guidance and technical support where required. Prepare and oversee more complex personal tax returns and computations. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for tax-related queries.
Correspond with HMRC on behalf of clients and assist with resolving enquiries and technical matters. Identify tax planning opportunities and support the delivery of advisory projects. Coach, mentor and assist with the development of trainees and junior tax professionals. Collaborate with partners, managers and other professional advisers to provide a joined-up service to clients. Requirements ATT, ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualification (or be studying towards one).
Previous experience within a personal tax team, ideally with some experience supervising or reviewing the work of others. Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships. A proactive, team-oriented approach with a genuine interest in supporting junior staff. Benefits Salary of approximately £50,000 - £57,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
