The closing date is 24 March 2026

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrative Officer to join the WISHH Charity. WISHH raises funds to enhance equipment, facilities and services within Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for the benefit of those using these hospitals.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual who loves making a difference and thrives upon a challenge. You will naturally excel at all forms of IT and Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel, as you will be responsible for accurate data input, updating and maintenance of all administrative systems and records, to assist in the efficient and smooth running of the Charity and work within the financial procedures and policies.

A key responsibility within this role is to create and maintain positive relationships with donors and fundraisers, delivering first‑class customer care when dealing with people both face‑to‑face and over the telephone.

You will play a significant role in ensuring all forms of media and communication channels are used to promote the charity and its work, including the WISHH website, social media and Just Giving pages, to raise awareness of our latest appeals and acknowledge the support of donors who fundraise to enhance wards and departments across both hospitals.

You will be part of a small team making a big difference to the patients cared for across Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. A place where no two days are ever the same.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, motivated and experienced administrator, who is able to work on their own initiative. You will support the CEO and other team members to ensure the Charity runs effectively and meets its responsibilities as a Charity registered with the Charity Commission.

The role involves all administrative tasks, i.e. the processing of all donations, analysis of income from online giving platforms. Clerical duties include emails, telephone calls, managing post, minute taking and responding to general correspondence. As well as keeping the WISHH website and social media up to date to promote the Charity's work.

As the first point of contact, you will utilise excellent communication skills to assist supporters, hospital staff and visitors. Providing exceptional service, valuing all donors and creating a positive experience with WISHH. Offering guidance when setting up online giving pages to help fundraisers maximise the fundraising.

You will help supporters overcome barriers to understanding using tact and diplomacy, providing advice on a range of charity issues, legal requirements, and ensure understanding of policies and procedures to staff across the Trust and external fundraisers.

You will represent the charity at a range of events and activities, giving short talks where necessary and be involved in all stages of event planning.
