Location:

Hours:

Salary: £27,000, increasing to £28,000 after six months
The Role
Prestige Recruitment Specialists are looking for a confident, resilient and highly organised Front of House Receptionist to join our own team at our Hull city centre office.
We operate an open-door policy, meaning our reception is a busy, fast-paced environment with a constant flow of candidates, visitors, clients and colleagues. As the first point of contact for our business, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, professional and well-managed environment.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people but also understands that reception is about much more than simply greeting visitors and answering the telephone. You will need to be comfortable managing competing demands, handling difficult conversations and dealing calmly and professionally with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
We pride ourselves on treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances or background, and expect the same standards of behaviour from those who visit our office. You will need the confidence to manage challenging situations appropriately, maintain professional boundaries and uphold our standards without becoming flustered or taking difficult interactions personally.
We are looking for someone with the maturity, resilience and initiative to take ownership of our front of house, even when things get busy or challenging.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting and greeting candidates, visitors, clients and business partners in a welcoming and professional manner.
Managing a busy reception area and responding confidently to a wide range of enquiries.
Answering incoming telephone calls, directing callers appropriately and taking clear, accurate messages.
Handling challenging or sensitive conversations calmly, professionally and respectfully.
Maintaining appropriate standards of conduct within reception and knowing when to resolve an issue independently or escalate it to a manager.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and ensuring the reception area remains clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
Booking and managing meeting rooms and ensuring visitors are directed to the correct people.
Working closely with all departments to coordinate candidate appointments, registrations, inductions and client visits, ensuring a smooth, professional and seamless experience for everyone visiting or engaging with Prestige.
Sending appointment notifications and invitations to candidates, including registration appointments, interviews and induction invites.
Coordinating candidate appointments and inductions, ensuring invitations are issued promptly and all relevant details are communicated clearly.
Updating relevant systems and records to ensure candidate appointments, registrations and inductions are accurately recorded.
Completing Right to Work checks and other candidate compliance checks accurately and confidentially.
Processing post, deliveries and general office correspondence.
Completing a variety of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the business.
Managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and a high standard of customer service.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience in reception, administration or recruitment would be advantageous, but attitude, resilience and the ability to deal with people are just as important as experience.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Confidence and resilience:
Comfortable working in a busy, open-door environment and able to remain composed when dealing with demanding individuals or difficult situations.
Exceptional communication skills:
An excellent telephone manner and the confidence to communicate clearly and professionally face to face.
Professionalism and emotional maturity:
Able to remain courteous and objective, even when conversations become challenging, without taking situations personally.
Strong interpersonal skills:
Comfortable interacting with people from different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds, treating everyone fairly and respectfully.
Initiative and sound judgement:
Able to make sensible decisions, manage issues appropriately and recognise when support from a manager is required.
Organisation and attention to detail:
Capable of balancing reception duties, compliance checks and administration in a fast-moving environment.
