About The Role

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Auditor to join our team.

This is not a traditional auditing role. Our audit team works in partnership with our branches to identify opportunities for improvement, provide guidance, and support colleagues in achieving the highest operational standards. We believe in coaching, developing and helping our branches succeed rather than simply highlighting what has gone wrong.

This is a varied, hands‑on role that will require regular travel to branches across the UK and flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the business. A varied role where no two days are the same and the opportunity to make a genuine difference across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with operational audits across all company branches.
  • Support branches in improving compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify best practice and share it across the business.
  • Work alongside Branch Managers and teams to provide practical solutions to operational issues.
  • Assist in auditing areas including:
    • Health & Safety
    • Cash handling and banking
    • Stock control
    • Warehouse operations
    • Vehicle compliance
    • Company procedures
    • General housekeeping
  • Produce clear, accurate and professional audit reports.
  • Follow up previous audit actions and provide ongoing support until improvements are completed.
  • Help investigate operational issues and identify root causes.
  • Assist with implementing new company procedures and initiatives.
  • Deliver guidance and coaching to branch colleagues where required.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers and branch teams.
  • Promote a positive culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Company Auditor or Senior Management.
What We're Looking For
  • Positive, approachable and supportive.
  • Honest with a high level of integrity.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • A confident communicator at all levels.
  • Able to build trust and positive working relationships.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Practical and solution-focused.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Able to write clear and concise reports.
  • Willing to learn new systems and procedures.
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when business needs require.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

  • Motor factor or automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Branch or retail management.
  • Warehouse operations.
  • Stock control.
  • Operational auditing.
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • Compliance or quality assurance.
  • Customer service.

Previous audit experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right individual with the right attitude.

Personal Qualities
  • Enjoys meeting new people and building strong relationships.
  • Takes pride in helping others improve.
  • Leads by example.
  • Is resilient and professional under pressure.
  • Has a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Is willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed.
  • Shares our belief that supporting people achieves better results than criticising them.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys travel, variety, problem‑solving and working closely with people. If you are passionate about helping teams improve and want to be part of a fast‑growing motor factor where your work has a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
