We are looking for a newly qualified General Practitioner to work across our member practices of Harthill PCN located in East Riding of Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in different practices and teams - a chance for you to get to knowmore about our neighbourhood and position yourself to take best advantage ofthe future opportunities of new national contracts due in 2026 and 2027.
This role is under the Newly Qualified Salaried GP Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). To be eligible for this role you must be within two years of certificate of completion of training at the start date of employment and have not previously held a substantive post as a General Practitioner.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder willwork as an autonomous practitioner - responsible for the provision of medical services to the PCN population - delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the PCN and GMS contracts.
About usHarthill Primary Care Network (PCN) is anetwork of three NHS GP Practices in the Haltemprice area of the East Riding of Yorkshire which includes practices in Willerby, Anlaby and North Ferriby.
We are one of seven PCNs across the East Riding and cover a registered population of around 18,000 patients across asemi-rural area. While we have areas on our patch which are among the 10% least deprived, we have pockets of deprivation and challenges to the prevention and management of long-term conditions for our population. Frailty is a significant issue; our population is older than the England average.
Harthill PCN practices provide services for 330 care home beds with the support of our existing ARRS and practice colleagues.

Job responsibilitiesJob Purpose
As aNewly Qualified Salaried GP underthe Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme - ARRS - this post holder will work collaboratively across Harthill PCN to play acrucial role in clinical governance building capacity and capability and providing resolution and critical thinking to some challenging patient diagnosis orissues.
Job Summary
While operating as a Newly Qualified Salaried GP - ARRS - you will work as an autonomous practitioner responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the PCNand GMS contracts.
Key Areasof Responsibility
As a salaried GP your will play a crucial role in the provision of primary healthcare services
Undertake surgery consultations including
- face-to-face
- online
- telephone
Delivery of Enhanced Access Appointments and same day access
The delivery ofhighly effective medical care to our population
Work with patients tosupport compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments
The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Support patients toadopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
Support and manage health needs of patients presenting for family planning or sexual health consultations
Processing of administration in a timely manner including
- referrals
- repeat prescription requests
- other associated administrative tasks
On a rotational basis undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively accepting an equal share of the PCN workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the PCN
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area or areas
Attend and contribute effectively to PCN and practice meetings as required
