The job itself

Hallgate Primary School is a warm and welcoming school in the centre of Cottingham.

We are looking to appoint a skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant, who is warm, caring, patient and adaptable, to join our hard-working and dedicated team. The position is fixed term until 31/08/2027, although this may be extended.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children in a primary school setting and hold a NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification.

You will work closely with the Class Teacher, SENDCO and other professionals to meet pupils educational, social, emotional and developmental needs. Duties will include supporting pupils by undertaking activities with individuals or groups of pupils to enable them to access the appropriate provision, ensuring their safety and well-being and to facilitate their physical, social and emotional and educational development. You will need to be a good communicator and able to build strong relationships with both pupils, staff and parents.
