This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in IT while making a real difference in schools. You’ll join a supportive team that values curiosity, collaboration and continuous learning.

If you enjoy solving problems, supporting people and want to build your skills in education technology, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

This is a hands‑on, people‑facing role where you’ll work closely with colleagues and students to ensure technology genuinely supports teaching, learning and day‑to‑day school life.

You’ll be based primarily at Lift Kingswood, with frequent travel to nearby schools including Lift Hall Road, Lift The Green Way, Lift Newington, Lift North Thoresby and Lift Utterby (situated in Louth, North Lincolnshire).

You’ll work closely with a local team of technology colleagues and be supported by the wider central Technology network across Lift Schools.

A reasonable commute to Lift Kingswood is important, as the role involves regular on‑site support across the schools.

What you’ll be doing Support for staff and students
  • Lead the IT inductions for new staff joining our schools.
  • Help staff use technology before, during and after lessons.
  • Support students with technology to enhance their learning.
  • Lead training sessions for colleagues and students on using technology confidently.
Driving innovation
  • Lead projects, trials and pilots to explore new ways of using technology in the classroom.
  • Work with other Technology Support Officers across Lift Schools to share ideas and best practices in EdTech.
  • Work with the IT team to ensure technology runs smoothly across the school.
  • Oversee the rollout and refresh of devices, working with the central team to keep plans on track.
Strategic input
  • Work with school leaders to embed technology into the school improvement plan and wider strategy.
  • Suggest ways technology can support the school’s priorities and improve teaching, learning and operations.
This role could be a great fit if you
  • Enjoy working with people and explaining technical issues clearly and calmly.
  • Are curious, keen to learn and motivated to develop your skills.
  • Are a team player who enjoys sharing ideas and learning from others.
  • Have experience in an IT support, technician or service‑desk style role.
  • Have experience inducting or training colleagues in IT or systems.
  • Have some exposure to education or EdTech.

Formal qualifications and experience in a school or education setting are helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, potential and commitment to learning.

Development and progression

We know retention matters. That’s why we invest in our people. In this role, you’ll benefit from a clear development pathway, including opportunities to work towards industry‑recognised certifications such as Google, View Sonic and Canva.
