SEND Teaching Assistant Richmond September Are you a compassionate and ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant looking to support young people in a high-achieving secondary school? This SEND Teaching Assistant opportunity in Richmond is based within a well-regarded Church of England secondary school and sixth form, located close to one of Londons largest royal parks and renowned for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral care and excellent academic outcomes.

SEND Teaching Assistant | Contract | September start Pay: £110-£115 per day Excellent training and professional development opportunities Work alongside experienced SENCOs, teachers and pastoral teams Gain valuable experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs Ideal role for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Therapists and Teachers SEND Teaching Assistant role within a supportive and well-established school community This oversubscribed secondary school and sixth form educates over 1,000 pupils aged 11-19 Approximately 17% of pupils receive SEND support, with around 5% holding an EHCP The school has specialist resource provision supporting pupils with additional needs, including Autism and Speech & Language needs Students achieve strong outcomes, with an Attainment 8 score of 57 and almost 64% achieving Grade 5 in English and Maths The school is recognised for its strong sense of community, excellent behaviour and high expectations for all pupils SEND Teaching Assistant will provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions to support academic and personal development SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies and learning plans Help pupils develop confidence, independence and engagement within lessons Support students with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and social-emotional needs SEND Teaching Assistant applicants should hold a degree from a leading UK university Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable Strong communication, empathy and behaviour management skills are essential SEND Teaching Assistant candidates must be patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing is required This SEND Teaching Assistant opportunity in Richmond offers the chance to make a genuine difference within an outstanding learning environment.
