Are you a passionate and adaptable educator looking for flexible teaching opportunities? Our vibrant and supportive secondary school in Northampton is seeking Cover Secondary Teachers and Cover Supervisors to join our dynamic team for ongoing daily and long-term supply cover across all subjects.
About the Role:As a Cover Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and ensuring a positive and engaging classroom environment for students. You'll have the flexibility to work across different year groups and departments, helping maintain high standards of learning during staff absences.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes, ensuring students are on task with their work and managing the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are looking to gain more experience in a classroom setting, while supporting students in their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities:Cover Teachers:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects
- Ensure students remain focused and engaged
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to subject teachers on student progress
- Supervise students and support their learning activities
- Ensure students remain on task and complete their work
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain order
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school as required
Cover Secondary Teachers:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) preferred, but not essential
- Experience teaching secondary-aged students (across all subjects)
- Strong classroom management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subject areas
- A passion for supporting students' academic growth and wellbeing
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to motivate students
- Strong classroom management skills
