Electrical Estimator
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electrical or M&E estimating experience who can produce accurate, competitive tenders and work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing fully itemised cost estimates for a range of electrical and M&E projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing accurate estimates covering labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
* Reviewing tender drawings, specifications, schedules and employer requirements
* Identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering options
* Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Negotiating commercially competitive rates
* Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
* Preparing professional tender submissions, pricing documents and clarifications
* Managing multiple tenders while meeting deadlines
* Maintaining estimating records, cost databases and supplier information
* Supporting the handover of successful tenders to design and project delivery teams
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Previous experience in electrical estimating or a similar M&E role
* A good understanding of electrical installations and building services
* The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
* Experience using estimating software would be advantageous
An HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial but is not essential.
