Lead Engineer or Scientist

Title:

Lead Engineer, Mechanical, Product Design and Engineering

• Support development through individual and teamwork.
• Apply knowledge of materials, tools, processes, and products to solve problems and develop and execute objectives for self and others.
• Effect short‑term and some long‑term business goals.
• Maintain a fundamental understanding of the work area and basic knowledge of products and applications upstream and downstream.
• Leverage core mechanical engineering disciplines—mechanics, structural dynamics, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid and aero dynamics, materials science and structural analysis—along with CAD, CAM, and product lifecycle management tools to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
• Deliver engineering and scientific efforts related to the design of new products and services and new designs for customer projects.
• Manage project delivery through design, verification, production and, if required, commercialization stages.
• Coordinate closely with Discipline, Research, and Testing teams as needed within a cross‑disciplinary organization supporting the technology portfolio strategy.
