Internship DetailsEducation required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering.
Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of the internship and doing a credit-bearing internship.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.
Internship period: January to June 2027.

What will you do?- Gain in-depth knowledge on GSK systems (Quality, Engineering and Validation).
- Apply knowledge of engineering and utilize soft skills in engaging different stakeholders to deliver assigned projects.
- Lead initiatives to drive improvement in standards and compliance across the GSK site network with respect to international and local regulation, GSK recognized standards and industry best practices.
- Support the development and delivery of strategies for Engineering Product-contact materials within the manufacturing supply chain of sites.
- Work on critical projects related to Environmental Regulatory compliance (such as PFAS) and Quality Regulatory compliance (such as Extractable & Leachable).
- Demonstrate creative mindset in designing solutions through academic research and benchmarking industry best practices to improve safety and quality compliance.
- Explore opportunities in digitalisation space (MS Power Platform, BI or other dashboarding tools) to enhance optimisation and visualization of business and process data.
- Lead research and data analysis to support project decision‑making.
- Assist in tracking project progress and identifying potential risks and issues.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations on project status and performance.
- Gain exposure and understanding of cGMP concepts and compliance to regulatory standards, including hands‑on experience leading a Global Engineering Compliance program in a leading biopharma company.
- Acquire knowledge and application of Good Engineering Practice (GEP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Hands‑on experience interfacing with regulatory and professional bodies on product contact/GMP materials engineering matters; lead data analysis and interpretation of results to influence data‑driven decision‑making.
- Gain insight into engineering change management, quality assurance and validation processes in a bio‑pharmaceutical industry setting.
- Collaborate with other business functions such as Global MSAT, Procurement, Operational Engineering, Capital Projects and components of the manufacturing plant.
- On‑the‑job learning with professionals from Automation and Engineering Technical Services within Global Engineering.
- Grow soft skills such as communication, problem‑solving and critical thinking, and leadership & project management skills in engaging stakeholders from shop floor to senior management.
- A keen interest in Manufacturing and Engineering world of the biopharma industry.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills.
- Competency in data research, analysis and interpretation of results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong English proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technical competency in Engineering and Material Science.
- Enjoy working and collaborating cross‑functionally and across global teams.
