Senior Draughtsperson

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Draughtsperson to lead the preparation of technical drawings and design documentation across our project portfolio. You’ll coordinate drafting activities, maintain quality standards, and mentor junior team members.

Working across a range of overhead line projects, you’ll play a key role in shaping the quality and consistency of our design outputs, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest technical and safety standards.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll act as a technical point of reference, working closely with engineers, surveyors and project managers to support successful project delivery. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement, helping to enhance drafting processes and develop the wider team.

The role is based in Copgrove, North Yorkshire, HG3 3TB

• Leading the preparation of detailed CAD drawings for complex overhead power line projects
• Reviewing and quality-checking drawings produced by the wider team
• Ensuring all outputs meet industry standards, regulations, and project requirements
• Managing design changes and maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation
• Working closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to support delivery
• Mentoring and developing junior draughtspersons
• Driving continuous improvement in drafting processes and best practice

• Advanced CAD experience (AutoCAD, Micro Station or similar)
• Strong understanding of drafting standards and regulations
• Knowledge of overhead line (OHL) components
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
