The Role

You’ll work closely with senior commercial, engineering and delivery teams to manage NEC contract administration across a large and complex programme of work. With a strong grounding in engineering, you’ll bring a practical, technically informed perspective to contract management, ensuring risks are identified early, change is managed effectively, and the project remains commercially robust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of NEC contracts across a major Thames Water project
  • Coordinate early warnings, change control, compensation events and programme updates
  • Maintain robust contract records, risk registers and cost reporting information
  • Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure technical changes are accurately captured and reflected contractually
  • Assist with subcontract administration, procurement activities and commercial governance
  • Engage with client representatives, internal stakeholders and supply chain partners to maintain clear communication and contractual compliance
  • Provide informed advice on engineering impacts, programme implications and risk mitigation
About You
  • Engineering professional (civil, mechanical, electrical or similar) who has progressed into contract or commercial management
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts, ideally within water, utilities or large‑scale infrastructure
  • Able to interpret technical information and understand how design, programme and construction changes influence contractual obligations
  • Detail‑driven, analytical and comfortable managing complex documentation
  • Confident communicator who can work across multi‑disciplinary teams and influence project outcomes
  • Degree‑qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Why This Opportunity Stands Out

You’ll join a contractor delivering one of the most high‑profile projects in the Thames Water portfolio – work that directly improves the resilience and performance of critical water infrastructure across London.
