Service Technician - Mechanical
Location:
Hull
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours:
36 hours per week

Our client is an established engineering business specialising in power transmission equipment, industrial gearboxes and geared motors. Due to a vacancy within their existing team, they are looking to recruit a Service Technician to join their workshop-based operation.
This is a long-term opportunity for a mechanically minded individual looking to build a career within an established engineering environment.
The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, servicing and repair of industrial gearboxes, working primarily within the company's workshop.
The role is approximately 90% workshop based, with occasional travel to customer sites required when additional support is needed by the field service team.
Your main duties will include:
Assembling industrial gearboxes
Servicing and repairing gearboxes
Working with bearings and mechanical components
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding equipment
Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards
Working safely and efficiently within the workshop
Supporting the wider engineering team when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and be comfortable working hands-on with mechanical equipment.
We're particularly interested in candidates who have:
A mechanical engineering background
Time-served engineering experience
Experience working with mechanical components
Previous experience with bearings, gearboxes or similar equipment
Good practical mechanical skills
A hands-on and methodical approach to work
Good attention to detail
A willingness to learn and develop
A genuine interest in securing a long-term permanent position
