Join the Nuclear Graduates programme to develop chemical engineering expertise through diverse secondments in the UK nuclear sector.
Your RoleKey responsibilities include:
- Undertaking process design and analysis for chemical plants and processes, including process design development and application of analytical methods.
- Applying chemical process safety tools and techniques.
- Supporting troubleshooting of chemical process operations.
- Developing outlines, concepts, schemes, and detailed process designs to meet facility, product manufacturing, and operational requirements.
- Assessing process designs by developing and testing process simulation models (mass-energy balances, flow-sheeting, advanced process modelling).
- Collaborating with process chemists, controls engineers, and operations engineers to optimize process designs for production and operations.
- Supporting operational teams in process troubleshooting, optimisation, defect rectification, and risk assessment.
The company is looking for candidates with:
- A minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- A safety-focused mindset.
- An open-minded and inquisitive attitude.
- Diligence, attention to detail, and strong technical rigour.
- Right to work for the duration of the 2-year programme.
- Willingness and ability to travel and relocate as required.
- Successful completion of security clearance checks.
- Salary of £30,000 per year.
- £5,500 individual travel budget for training and meetings.
- £3,500 flexible individual training budget.
- Access to three secondments across the UK nuclear sector.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- 6 discretionary days leave for study and relocation.
