Art Director​/Lead Artist

We have partnered with an exciting video games studio based in Hertfordshire, who require an Art Director/Lead Artist to work on a range of new titles on PC and Console platforms. The studio has built a fantastic reputation and are known for their high-quality output, close relationship building and have worked on a series of greatly received titles, some of which have earned several 9/10 and 10/10 reviews.

This is a creative role with a major focus on “hands on” work, creating stylised characters and environments. Although this is an ideal role for a generalist, the studio is open to someone who specialises in either characters or environments as well. The key is a passion for video games and creating colourful and fun worlds for players to enjoy!

This role is hybrid working, with 2 days in-house and 3 days working remotely.

• Proven professional experience in game art development and shipped titles.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality stylised 3D character art and game-ready assets.
• Professional experience creating characters, rigs, and animations.
• Experience defining and maintaining an art style across a project or team.
• Strong understanding of composition, colour theory, shape language, and visual storytelling.
• Experience working within Unity.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to provide clear, constructive artistic direction and feedback.
• Passion for creating games and memorable player experiences.
