My client is a long-established family-run group of companies specialising in commercial property, residential lettings, and self-storage across East Yorkshire. With a portfolio that continues to expand, my client is now seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take a hands-on leadership role within their head office team.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded Finance Manager to join a successful and fast-moving business with a down-to-earth culture, where decisions are made quickly and employees play an important part in shaping the future of the organisation.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations across the group, ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and strong cost control across multiple entities. My client is looking for a proactive Finance Manager who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
The successful Finance Manager will work directly with directors, providing financial insight, improving internal processes, and supporting the continued growth of the group. This role would suit a hands-on Finance Manager comfortable operating in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing the accounts function across multiple property and trading entities in the role of Finance Manager.
* Ensuring accurate financial information is produced to support credit control, supplier payments, and cashflow forecasting.
* Preparing monthly management accounts, budgets, and variance analysis.
* Working closely with directors to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial processes using AI, technology, and improved systems.
* Running revenue protection processes to ensure all revenue streams are maximised.
* Liaising with external accountants and auditors.
* Supporting property-related transactions, acquisitions, and funding activities.
* Ensuring compliance with VAT, CIS, and other property-related accounting requirements.
About You
My client is looking for a commercially minded and practical Finance Manager who thrives in a hands-on environment.
You will have:
* Experience with in the property sector – commercial, residential, or development.
* Strong working knowledge of Xero, Excel, and general ledger management.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Confidence communicating with directors, suppliers, and tenants.
* A proactive and hands-on approach suited to a growing business environment.
