Group Financial Controller

We are partnering with a private equity-backed, high-growth professional services group, based in Solihull, undergoing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. With strong financial backing and an active M&A pipeline, the business is scaling rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth. As part of this journey, we are seeking a technically strong ACA qualified Group Financial Controller to play a critical leadership role in shaping a best-in-class finance function.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will operate at the heart of a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, helping to scale the finance function while supporting ongoing M&A activity and post-deal integration.

You will lead from the front, driving improvements in reporting, controls, systems, and processes, while building a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Control & Reporting Own and enhance the Group's financial control environment Lead consolidated reporting and statutory accounts across multiple entities Ensure consistency in accounting policies (IFRS/UK GAAP) Manage external audits and regulatory compliance Private Equity & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a key interface with private equity investors Support board reporting and strategic decision-making Build relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors M&A & Integration Support financial due diligence and deal execution Lead post-acquisition integration of finance processes and reporting Drive synergy tracking and performance optimisation Transformation & Continuous Improvement Drive improvements in reporting quality and timelines Lead finance transformation projects across systems and processes Implement scalable infrastructure to support growth Champion automation and efficiency initiatives Leadership Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Candidate profile required: ACA or ACCA qualified Previously trained with a top-tier accountancy firm.
