An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a busy finance team, providing professional financial support across a range of services.
Working closely with budget managers and senior stakeholders, you will lead on budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting and year-end activities. You will provide expert financial advice, support strategic decision-making and help ensure effective financial management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce and monitor revenue and capital budgets
- Prepare forecasts, financial reports and management information
- Support the preparation of annual accounts and statutory returns
- Provide financial advice to managers and stakeholders
- Analyse financial performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Assist with service planning, budget setting and financial modelling
- Support and mentor junior finance staff where required
- CCAB qualified, AAT qualified or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Experience working within a complex finance environment
- Local government finance experience is desirable
