Job Description & How to Apply Below

Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist Vascular/Cardiology and the Amputee service.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking a Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our diverse team of allied health professionals. The post holder will work within the Vascular/Cardiology and Amputee service, based predominantly at Hull Royal Infirmary but with an expectation to outreach to the Artificial Limb Unit and undertake community-based pre‑and‑post‑operative assessments for patients undergoing upper and lower limb amputations.

For this reason a car driver or the ability to independently transport self in the community is essential.

We are seeking a person who can adapt to a changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi‑disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies, which is especially important in this tertiary centre delivering care to patients outside of the Hull and East Yorkshire area.

The post holder will work alongside the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist within the service to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the therapy service provided to patients within the speciality area, delivering clinical leadership and day‑to‑day management of the inpatient team, meaning a high regard for clinical operations and governance will be needed ensuring high standards of patient‑centred care is achieved and maintained.

As a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, you will have advanced levels of clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of a range of conditions including amputees.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate specialised clinical skills, leadership and service development experience as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills as the post holder will contribute to service planning, development and teaching. As a Clinical Lead, the post holder will be a role model for their team and pride themselves on delivering high quality care and motivate their team to do the same.

Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas – biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
