Overview

The post holder will be required to provide Technologist duties in the Nuclear Medicine Departments including imaging, i.v. and intra-dermal administration of radiopharmaceuticals and in-vitro techniques on an ad-hock basis.

Working pattern

The department operates between 07:30 and 20:00 and a working times directive compliant shift system operates between these hours. This is likely to start earlier on the opening of the new Molecular Imaging Research Centre in which our new radiopharmacy facility will be housed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Technologist duties in the Nuclear Medicine Departments including imaging, i.v. and intra-dermal administration of radiopharmaceuticals and in-vitro techniques on an ad-hock basis.
  • Prioritise demanding workloads and work under own initiative.
  • Be a key member of the Nuclear Medicine Team with direct contact with patients, medical, nursing and other staff, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications and experience
  • Possess a BSc/HNC or equivalent in radiography, a science or health related subject and have completed competency based nuclear medicine training.
  • Post qualification/radiopharmacy experience is highly desirable.
