St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them. There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.

The postholder is responsible for the management of major programmes and/or a variety of projects as part of delivering St John’s wider strategic roadmap. The postholder will be a skilled planner and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels. The role sits within the DDAT network and requires digital literacy with managing technology-based programmes and projects as a core remit.

The postholder will form strong relationships within DDAT and across the wider networks to bring stakeholders together to solve problems and deliver programmes and projects. They will liaise across multiple teams and matrix manage on assigned projects to ensure engagement and successful delivery against agreed outcomes, with clear ownership of deliverables and accountable planning.

This Fixed Term Contract of minimum 12 months is to deliver an eCommerce Website Re platform and Content Platform to SaaS solutions and an associated Universal MyAccount Area and Course booking replacement, implementing end-to-end system integrations including data management and migration and aligning wider business process change with adoption of new systems and new ways of working. Significant experience in eCommerce projects and complex system integrations with data impacts, excellent stakeholder management and change adoption is required.

You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C/4), a minimum of 5 including Maths & English, be qualified in programme and project management (e.g. MSP, APM, PRINCE2, Agile). You should have demonstrable experience of managing complex large programmes and projects (including digital delivery) from concept through to operational use, experience directing and motivating cross-functional teams, and working in structured governance standards (planning, resource management, RAID management, financial management).

You will have matrix management leadership skills, the ability to lead and prioritise complex projects, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including c-suite, using multiple channels.
