Role: PPM Engineer

Salary: £25.99 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Location: Pontefract, WF8 3DD

Shift Available: Fri, Sat, Sun, 3pm to 2am, 33 Hours

We are a family business established in Yorkshire in 1997 based in Pontefract with a reputation for exceptional product, innovation, and industry-leading animal welfare standards. Our facilities combine traditional British butchery techniques with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector.

A committed team of over 800 staff oversee the whole process: from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging, and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.

• ONC level 3 minimum qualified in electrical engineering/electrical installation or BTEC level 3 electrical/mechanical or equivalent
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred but not essential
• Qualified in IEE 17th/18th Edition Electrical Regulations preferred but not essential
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
• Good communication skills
• Good IT skills

• Maintain all machinery to the standard expected within a food environment.
• Continuous improvement of all production/packaging machinery.
• Decrease downtime and increase productivity by providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance and assisting with project work.
• Reactive/breakdown maintenance - workloads are split between breakdown maintenance (and covering production) 50%, planned preventative maintenance 30% and project work 20%.
• You will obtain your workloads via the maintenance board - conduct your work and complete the worksheet.
