About
The Role
Help us to extend our reach!
We are here for anyone affected by dementia and are keen to reach people in all communities, including those who may be more at risk of isolation through language, accessibility needs, identity or background.
This exciting role will support Alzheimer's Society's Forget Me Not Movement and our Making Waves event at The Deep, helping us start meaningful conversations, reduce stigma, and ensure people affected by dementia know where to turn for information, advice and support.
You’ll play a crucial role in building and strengthening community links and raising awareness of the services we have available. You’ll take part in events and talk to groups to raise awareness of dementia and to identify people affected by dementia who can share their dementia story with their wider community as well as with us. You’ll also signpost people to access our services.
What You'll Do- Represent Alzheimer's Society at community events, awareness activities and campaigns.
- Support the delivery of the Forget Me Not Movement and Making Waves initiatives.
- Start friendly, supportive conversations with members of the public about dementia.
- Signpost people affected by dementia to appropriate local services and support.
- Help build relationships with community groups, organisations and local partners.
- Encourage communities to become more dementia-friendly and inclusive.
- Distribute information and promotional materials.
- Gather feedback and insights from local communities to help shape future activities.
- Work alongside staff, volunteers and community partners to maximise engagement and impact.
