Overview

The Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Specialist Nurse role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with the ERCP leads and endoscopists across all hospitals in Humber Health Partnership. The post holder will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in response to inpatient and outpatient referrals for ERCP and related screening procedures within the Endoscopy Unit. Acting as a patient advocate, the ERCP Specialist Nurse will provide expert support throughout all stages of the patient journey, from pre-assessment through to discharge, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care at every step.

The post holder will provide advanced, specialist nursing care to a defined caseload of patients undergoing ERCP. Working autonomously and in close partnership with the multidisciplinary team, they will develop, implement, and evaluate highly specialised, evidence-based plans of care, ensuring patients and carers are fully informed and supported to participate in decision-making. The role includes obtaining informed consent, communicating complex and sensitive information with compassion, coordinating referrals and follow-up, and acting as a key point of contact throughout the patient pathway.

The post holder will work across all hospitals within the Humber Health Partnership, covering both North and South Bank sites, to ensure equitable and consistent delivery of the ERCP/Spy Glass service.
