Position Summary

Communicate standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team, in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. Standards should be communicated through stated goals, daily interaction, Team meetings, provide input on employee performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions. Lead person is responsible for day-to-day operations

This is a DAY SHIFT position. Typical schedules are 6:30 am - 5:00 pm; however, schedules are subject to change, depending on business needs. Work location within the Greater Houston area will vary based on production needs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform standard office duties, plant duties, and operate mobile equipment.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
  • Assist Production Supervisor with scheduling and organizing employees to accomplish production operations.
  • Plan and conduct daily safety/operational meetings with employees under your supervision.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations of team members.
  • Make regular inspections for safety, housekeeping, and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation.
  • Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards as established.
  • Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed.
  • Implement and apply all safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures of property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Work closely with management to ensure the implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment.
  • Participate in the plant safety committee.
  • Encourage employees to participate in Guardian Angel activities.
  • Demonstrate a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level toward teammates, peers, and customers.
  • Complete daily production, safety, and maintenance reports accurately.
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality of all products.
  • Other duties as requested
Education and Experience
  • 4 years+ experience preferably in aggregates industry.
  • 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), preferred.
  • Understand team-based management.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel long distances by car or other commercial means, overnight at times
  • Must be able to work irregular shifts and weekends as required
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection
  • Ability to operate hand levers, foot pedals, and steering wheel
  • Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment
  • Must be able to climb stairs to a height of 100 feet and work at this height
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to operate two-way radio, CB radio, computer, phone, and other equipment as required
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and reach around all areas of equipment
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain
  • Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Most time is spent in an outside setting that may require various periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 DB
