Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – Humble, Tx
Overview
Humble, Texas – a vibrant community just outside Houston – is the location for this role. This position will be classified as Level I, Level II, or Senior based on candidate experience. The clinic is part of Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in the country, offering cutting‑edge, high‑quality care in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care in accordance with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Coordinate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care as necessary.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter‑professional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
- Education/Training
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements.
- Level I
- Entry‑level – 0‑3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level II
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level Senior
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.

Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
