Our products are engineered by a highly trained staff of engineers working side by side with our Material Science team.
Our engineered materials are developed and tested on-site. We serve the Aerospace, Automotive, General Industrial, Hydrogen, LNG & Cryogenics, Medical, Midstream & Downstream Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Semiconductor, Upstream Oil & Gas, and Water Treatment markets.
Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring product verification and documentation is satisfactorily performed from the receipt of raw material and parts, through the manufacturing processes to the completion of the verification and documentation process at final inspection thereby ensuring conformance to requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs all duties and responsibilities required of Inspectors.
- Schedule work to Inspectors ensuring maximum possible throughput is maintained as associated with the Inspection processes.
- Ensure that inspection services are provided at point of need and when required, within reason, to further support throughput goals.
- Support special duties such as line inspection to enable scrap to be reduced.
- Runs required KPI reports assigned (For example: Nonconformance, Return material authorization, Receiving Inspection, etc) to support Quality Manager and populates necessary metrics used in meetings.
- Assists Quality manager by reviewing RMAs and customer complaints and does research to support decisions on how the company is going to process. Example: accept RMA, challenge it, scrap at customer, or reject the complaint. Works with Quality Manager to resolve RMAs with outside/inside sales and the customer.
- Mentor inspectors on improving the inspection methods used in the facility.
- Supervises:
Incoming inspection, QC personnel performing in process / line inspection, QC final inspection, CMM programmers, and certifications. - Updates inspection form templates and initiates work definition changes for specific parts.
- Works with engineering when deviations are required for dimensional issues.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Directly supervises 5-10 employees in the Inspection Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Schedules work, approves vacation, and monitors general inspector attendance/schedules.

Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Ability to read both CDI and customer drawings, product standards, structures (bills of materials) and work definitions (routers) and work definition work instructions (work order instructions).
Ability to use measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers and pi-tapes.
Basic computer skills. Micro-Hites, Micro-View, Optical Comparator, Keyence, Functional Gages, Optical Ram, and CMM.
Other QualificationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
